What’s wrong with oil? I suppose it makes my material world possible. All the creature comforts I enjoy would not be possible if we did not have this energy source. What would Paleolithic life be like? So, it would seem just a bit hypocritical to even pose this question. Our wealth, our jobs and our economy all depend on this energy source. What is wrong with having a vibrant economy with a steady job and food on the table???

There is nothing wrong with oil you say. I hope I don't disturb your oil induced idiocy, but I wonder what polar bears, penguins and all the animals in between would say as our climate changes. Also, please take a look at the introduction of the video below (0.00 - 1.20) by Thomas Friedman of The New York Times. You talk about a vibrant economy but what would happen to your comfortable material world if other nations create the energy efficient technology of the future? It also says that oil is our Achilles heel, of course you probably don't understand this Classical reference.
